A Paris Journey… / My Work / Japonais Vendredi…

Today was a good day at work…

I got thru all my tasks in the morning then invited myself along to one of the accounts team pod lunches to enjoy their company over lunch and a glass of vino.

They had made a reservation at  JACKS TEPPANYAKI at Gordon and so I offered to drive them up to the venue.  We were lucky enough to have the ‘parking angel’ with us and found a parking spot relatively close, only thing was we had to walk up a slight incline of a hill and I discovered hills and heels don’t quite mix … tom pee! 🙂

There were 5 of us (all girls) and we were greeted warmly by Jack (the owner) and Kye his offsider and shown to our places around the hotplate.

Our Lunch Menu consisted of…

  • Fresh Salad

  • Miso Soup

  • Beef Tenderloin

  • Chicken Teriyaki

  • Steamed Rice

  • Fried Mixed Vegetables

So, while Jack cooked the meat, chicken and vegetables on the very hotplate in front of us, Kye fussed over us serving our wine, along with the salad, soup and rice!  The food was excellent and very tasty and as we were practically the only ones in the restaurant we were able to have a laugh with the boys and ask them lots of questions about themselves! 🙂 (as all good Muriels do!)

The girls told me that I need to make a reservation for an evening meal here as that is when Jack and Kye really put on a spectacle for their guests by ‘throwing’ rice and eggs (raw!!!) randomly at some of the patrons and expecting them to catch it!  I’m not sure I’m in that much of a hurry to experience that type of spectacle! LOL

Conversation was convivial and light hearted and I was very happy I made the effort to touch base with them.. they are 4 wonderful women indeed!

Thanks Muriels for a great lunch!

Oh and another thing…what really made it good was that I received a call from my ex-CEO during my lunch… he was just touching base – how nice for me! 🙂
